Problem Description
How can I create a new cell in OpenBuidings Designer?
Steps to Accomplish
Please follow the below steps through which you can easily create a new cell in OpenBuildings Designer.
- First, create the geometry you would like to use in your cell. In this example we have placed a 2D Block and extrude it into a 3D solid.
- Then from the Content ribbon select “Define Cell Origin” tool and define a point on the element.
- Next, place a fence around the element and open the Cell Library dialog box.
- In the Cell Library dialog box click on File and select New to create a new cell library file (*.cel).
- After creating the *.cel file, in the Cell Library dialog box click on “Create Cell”, enter a name, and choose what type of cell it is going to be: Graphic, Point or Parametric (in this case Graphic cell was chosen).
- You should now see that the cell has been created and is displaying in the Cell Library dialog box.
- Finally, double click on the newly created cell to place it as the Active Cell in your DGN file.
