Problem Description

How can I disable the "backward compatibility" alert message inside my ProjectWise environment? Even after checking on the “Don't show this warning again” box it still displays when launching OpenBuildings Designer. 

 

Solution

If you've checked the “Don't show this warning again” box and the alert still displays when opening files from your ProjectWise environment, if you’re using a managed workspace go into the User settings in ProjectWise Administrator, right-click the User and select Settings. Click on the Personal Workspace tab and there you can see that “TF_NOCOMPATIBILITYWARNING” variable is set to 1.

Simply undefine that variable by adding a pound sign (#) at the beginning and then tick on the “Don’t show this warning again" box.  

After opening files from your ProjectWise managed workspace the alert box should no longer pop up.
