Text cannot be placed on building elements in a cached drawing view. A message that "Element not valid for tool" will be displayed when selecting any element with the "Place Text Along" tool.
Single instances can easily be copied into the model by right-clicking on an element and selecting "Copy/Hide Cached Element" in the pop-up menu. Multiple instances of elements can be hidden or copied by selecting the elements to hide then running the key-in 'reference visible edges cached hide' or just selected in a selection set and using the "Copy/Hide" tool.With the Copy/Hide Cached Element option, the selected elements can be both hidden and copied to the active file. The copied elements can then be modified as needed.
If a Cached view is changed back to "Dynamic", hidden cached elements will be in-hidden. Always use the update/synchronize cache tools to update the content.
