Area:

ProjectWise Integration

Problem Description:

While opening files from ProjectWise certain users see that the file is opening in OpenBuildings Designer's Microstation mode so they are not able to see the Building Design and Building System Design workflows. How can I solve this?

Solution:

First we need to check the program association for the DGN files. If they are all fine then some custom user associations may have been created. To solve this please follow the below steps.

1. Open ProjectWise Explorer and choose Tools > Associations > Programs to open the Program Associations dialog.

2. Once the Program Association dialog opens, from the dropdown for "Select an association view" select User Associations and search for OpenBuildings Designer.

3. Once you find OpenBuildings Designer, expand the program and then right click on Bentley.OpenBuidlingsDesigner.Application and select Unassociate from the pop-up.

4. After performing the Unassociate, restart ProjectWise Explorer and you should see that the Building Designer workflows are present in the ribbon.

Problem Description:

While opening file from Projectwise the users are seeing that the file is opening in OBD microstation mode hence not able to see the building designer workflows. How to solve this?

Solution:

First we need to check the program association for the DGN files and if they are all fine then there is some user associations have been created. To solve this please follow the below steps.

Step1: Open PW explorer and then go to Tools -> Associations -> Programs to open the Program Associations dialog.

Step 2: Once the Program Association dialog opens up then from the dropdown of Select an association view, select User Associations and search for OpenBuildings Designer.

Step 3: Once you find OpenBuildings Designer then expand the program and then right click on the Bentley.OpenBuidlingsDesigner.Application and hit Unassociate.

Step 4:After doing the association, restart ProjectWise Explorer and you will notice that now the Building Designer workflows are present in the ribbon.
