Problem

If you want to have a custom DataGroup object you can use an existing cell in a DataGroup catalog item in order to place it as a DataGroup element. 

Solution

1. Using Windows File Explorer place your *.cel file in the applicable \Cell folder in either the Dataset, WorkSpace or WorkSet. In this example we have placed it in DataSet_NM - C:\ProgramData\Bentley\OpenBuildings CONNECT Edition\Configuration\Datasets\Dataset_NM\Cell\

2. If not already linked, add the ‘ParaDef’ definition to the applicable Catalog Type.



3. Then then you can use the Parametric | File Type and Parametric | File Name properties to select a cell library and cell name for that Catalog Item.
