How to get the Version no of OBD if it has already been uninstalled from the system?

Problem

It is often found that user sometimes gets an issue with a particular version and due to some project requirement, they have to install a different version. But when he tries to address that issue they often need to mention the version number or specifically the build no.

Solution

This situation can only take place if the user can not find or delete the particular EXE file from where they have installed the application.
Here they need to collect the log files associated with all Bentley applications,

Step 1: Collect logs
1. Open Bentley Log Collector
Open the Windows Start menu, type Log Collector, and choose Bentley Log Collector from the search results.

2. Click the Collect button in the window that appears.



3. Select a location, enter a file name for the logs to be collected, and click Save.
4. After a few moments a confirmation window appears - click OK.


Step 2: Finding the correct version,
1. Open the Bentley.Connect.Client.exe.log file in NotePad,

2. Then find the word ‘OpenBuilding Designer’ there. Then find the date and time associated with it and confirm it is the same date when you are using/installing the particular OBD version.
