For project purposes, I need to see the Site properties in IFC. But when my DGN file is exported to IFC using OpenBuildings Designer, only the properties associated with the Building display. Is there a way by which Site properties can be generated in IFC after exporting?
To solve this issue please follow the steps below:
1. Choose File>Export>Exchange File Types>IFC
2. In the IFC Export dialog box click on the Assign button under Spatial Structure.
3. In the 'Assign Models to Spatial Containment' dialog from the Site/Building column choose Site from the dropdown, then click on ‘Save’ and ‘Close’.
4. Next, export your DGN file to IFC.
5. When you open the resulting file in an IFC viewer you should now see that Site properties are visible.
