    Incorrect scaling on floor plans

      Product(s): OpenBuildings Energy Simulator
      Version(s): CONNECT Edition
      Environment: N/A
      Area: Modelling
      Subarea: Background scale

    Overview

Upon creating a new floor and importing your 2D floor plan, you may find that the scale is not correct. It may be off by a factor of 1000, for instance.

    Method

This occurs if the drawing in question users external reference files (or X-refs).

This means that when imported, Energy Simulator cannot find the data it needs in relation to the units, as this data does not exist in the file itself.

    To resolve, either:

    • Save such drawing files as standalone drawings, and then there should be no issue when importing.

    • Alternatively, open the drawing in OpenBuildings Designer and the below menu will appear, allowing you to specify the correct scale. Save, and then import to Energy Simulator.
