Problem Description

When opening OpenBuildings Designer we get the error “Data Group System - XML Error: Error Parsing: MRU_Lookups.xml”. How to resolve it?

 

Solution

The reason behind this error is that either the XML file is missing, changed or contains bad data. To resolve it you will have to remove your "Prefs" folder from this location: "C:\Users\User_Name\AppData\Local\Bentley\OpenBuildingsDesigner" and restart your Building Designer once again. Please refer to the screengrab below for your reference.

 

Upon restarting your OpenBuildings Designer you can see that the error will not popup again and your OBD will work properly.
