TM54 - Plant Energy & CO2

 Product(s):OpenBuildings Energy Simulator
 Version(s):CONNECT Edition
 Area:Dynamic Simulation

Overview

The Plant Energy & CO2  Simulation can be used to breakdown the energy used by all HVAC equipment in your building model.

The results of this will breakdown the energy used by Heating, Cooling, Pumps, Fans, Lighting and Hot water, and the resulting CO2 emissions.

Method

Please note, that as this Simulation examines the performance of HVAC, to run it you will need to select a HVAC System.

To accomplish this:

  1. Ensure you have added your HVAC System that you wish to analyse. One can easily be added in Data Managers > HVAC Systems -  by choosing the Simplified option as shown here:
HVAC System Design - OpenBuildings | Bentley Communities

  2. On the Calculations tab, select the Simulation menu. Select your HVAC System, and click on the Simulation Method dropdown to find the Plant Energy & CO2 simulation:

  3. Then, click Start to run the simulation, and the results can be displayed numerically or shown in graphical form.

These results can be used to contribute to TM54 requirements.
