Problem Description

I’ve created a slab, and then I’m trying to take out the volume in the Reports. It worked fine until I added a second slab with a hole in it. The second slab didn’t appear in the reports. Why?

Steps to Resolve

You need to check if the second slab with a hole is treated as a slab. The easiest way to check this is to open the properties dialog.

Looking at the pictures above, you can see that the second slab after creating a hole in it, it’s no longer a slab, now it’s a Smart Solid. Depending on what settings you use, there may also be a different item e.g., Parametric Solid.

Now that we know what elements are in the drawing, we can open the Reports window and include all these objects in the Objects tab in the Selected and Filtered By fields. If we want to see Smart Solid item in the report, we need to find and add a BRep Cells.

The reason why you probably don’t see the second item is because you haven’t selected all the existing items in those fields. As a result, some of them were omitted during the export.
