Problem

After installing OpenBuildings Designer 2023 I can no longer open any DGN files from my ProjectWise datasource. This was working before with OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition, but now I get this "log4net:ERROR" message. 

Solution

Because OpenBuildings Designer 2023 is a "rebrand" of CONNECT Edition, the folder structure for both the application and configuration have changed. See this What's New wiki for more information.

While OpenBuildings Designer 2023 can be installed side-by-side with CONNECT Edition and the two applications will coexist, each must have its own configuration. In the context of ProjectWise this means the existing CONNECT Edition managed workspace will not support OpenBuildings Designer 2023 since the folder naming convention has changed as outlined in this wiki.

Therefore, we recommend that a new managed workspace be created specifically for OpenBuildings Designer 2023. This new managed workspace needs to use the new folder names and should include all dataset content changes made since your current version of CONNECT Edition.

Until your new managed workspace is ready we suggest that you continue using OpenBuildings Designer CONNECT Edition.
