Problem

We have some plan drawings where grids are displaying as expected, but in others from the same project the grids do not display even though the same settings are applied. In the Reference Display dialog the Grid Lines option is enabled, and we've checked the floor settings in the Grid Systems Manager to make sure the drawings fall within that range.

Solution

The clip volumes for the problem plan drawings were extremely large - the XY range from the lower left to upper right corner was over 1,052,500' x 228,200' while the extents of the included geometry (located in one corner) was approximately 100'.

The overall range being processed by the clip volume vs. the geometry itself caused a severe lack of accuracy, resulting in the inability for grid annotation to display. Once the clip volume sizes were reduced to better suit the geometry and the the Grid Lines option turned off and then back on, the grids did display as expected.
