Making the windows transparent

 Product:OpenBuildings Designer
 Version:CONNECT Edition
 Area:Architectural Design

Problem Description:

How do I make the windows transparent?

Steps to Accomplish:

  1. After placing the window/s, select the window and click the Building Element Info (in the common tools ribbon), collapse the Objects Dialog (External Window or Compound Cell) to view "free form" or "linear form, " and then hover over the glass material. Upon selecting the free form or linear form, you can see that the object in the window will be highlighted. So, select the free form or linear form that corresponds to the window glass.

  2.  Next, go to the "Identification" option and change the “Family” to "Doors-Windows-Glazing" and the “Part” to "Default Glazing" because this would make the glass transparent so that the object behind it would be seen through.

Note: *If the object is still not transparent: Open the Family/Part Editor (you can search it on the top-right part or simply go backstage by clicking “File” and selecting Dataset Tools and you’ll see the Family/Part Editor. And now, change the Part View to "Rendering Properties". Then click on the Render Material column, make sure the Palette is "Glass & Plastic" and select "Transparent Element Color".
