Industry Standard EnergyPlus Building Performance Analysis
AECOsim Energy Simulator incorporates Version 6.0 of the Energy Plus simulation engine, the emerging standard for the industry developed by the U.S. Department of Energy. AECOsim Energy Simulator is the only simulation interface which allows users access to all the capabilities of Energy Plus.
Industry Standard Calculations, Documentation and Reporting
Industry standard building design load calculations from ASHRAE (Radiant Time Series) and CIBSE along with ASHRAE Standards 90.1 and 62.1 (2004 and 2007) are built into AECOsim Energy Simulator. Baselines and other compliance models for Standard 90.1 are automatically generated at run time.
CAD and BIM Workflows
Since AECOsim Energy Simulator is built on Bentley's Micro Station Power Platform, users can seamlessly bring in 2D/3D data from industry CAD, BIM, and AEC applications such as Micro Station, Auto CAD, Revit, and others as well as standard file formats such as i-model, GBXML, DXF, and DWG. This eliminates the need to reinterpret the data between different applications.
Innovative Interface
The program combines multiple ways of accessing and viewing the building model: 2D/3D views and project tree. In addition, the ribbon bar menu configuration allows easy access to all the capabilities of AECOsim Energy Simulator.
Please note that at this time the calculation standards in the AECOsim Energy Simulator are geared towards the US market.
