A recent SBEM update as of the 18th September has resulted in Hevacomp PartL being unable to produce XML files.
A grace window, where both existing and new versions of SBEM could be used by energy assessors, was provided for by BRE in every previous update. No such grace window has been provided on this occasion.
This is very unfortunate as it has directly coincided with the transition of Hevacomp to OpenBuildings. Thus, as Hevacomp users should have seen in the below communication, there are no further updates possible for Hevacomp.
To resolve this we are working on a route for users to obtain their PartL outputs and XMLs from OpenBuildings, via the Hevacomp Import option. Users will be able to easily import their completed Hevacomp model into OpenBuildings Energy Simulator, and run the new PartL calculation to obtain the XML.
We are aware of the urgency of this matter to our users and are doing everything possible to expedite this.
Hevacomp Mechanical is NOW integrated into OpenBuildings Designer
I have received a progress update on this matter stating that the OpenBuildings priority build is in the final stages, and should be due for release next week.
Update: All development work has been completed and the above priority build is now undergoing final audit prior to it's release.
Hi Shane - Any news as to when this update will be available? Will the update be able to be used on Hevacomp or will I have to upgrade to OpenBuildings? In other words, is Hevacomp now redundant in terms of producing Part L assessments and EPCs?
Steve
Hi Steve, Hevacomp continues to be available throughout this transition however you are correct that it will receive no further updates, as all future development is occurring in OpenBuildings. I understand that the OpenBuildings priority build (ie including latest SBEM for producing XML's) is due in the coming days. This will allow you to import your completed Hevacomp project and obtain the XML.
I will let you know of any news as soon as I have any further information.
Thank you once more to you and all our users for your patience on this matter.
Hi Shane, how would the upgrade to Openbuildings work, and will we be able to register EPC's based on being qualified to do so under the HEVACOMP software?
Do you think this will be available by the end of the week so that I can give my clients some sort of timeframe?
