<Update>
We are pleased to announce that SBEM v5.2.g has been fully accredited for use in Hevacomp Update 4, available for download as detailed here.
The Scottish building regulations are due to be updated from Section 6 2010 to 2015 in October 2015. Until that date, SBEM version 4.1.e should be used for Scottish Section 6 EPC and Compliance calculations - i.e. these calculations should be carried out in Hevacomp v25 (with the final update, 29).
Please see further details from BRE here:
Hevacomp v26 will be updated to include the new Scottish regulations as the 2015 (SBEM 5.2f) changes come into effect in October. Should you wish to run any demonstrative, evaluation or test calculations under the new regulations at this point, then you will need to use iSBEM_5.2.f, which is available for download here.
Further information about the Hevacomp v25 / v26 switchover can be found here.

Many thanks to our users for their patience with this matter, the regrettable delay was partly due to communication difficulties with the Department for Communities and Local Government while seeking accreditation.
Hevacomp has now received full accreditation for all the latest regulations. This matter is in its final stages, with the Service Pack ready for release, awaiting sign off from management.
Hello Andrew/all,
We appreciate the delayed release of the latest service pack is causing frustration amongst our users.
While it is regrettable that such a delay has occurred the situation is a little out of our hands as we have been waiting several weeks now for a response to our submission for accreditation for Part6 for Scotland. While we believe all the necessary development work for this has been completed we simply cannot release until we receive accreditation.
< EDIT >To clarify; We have been waiting on accreditation for PartL England and Wales before being able to submit for Scottish Accreditation. English and Welsh accreditation has been achieved and the appropriate information has now been passed on to the Scottish authorities for final sign off.< /EDIT >
Hi Shane,
Any update on when the Section 6 update will be released?
Hi Anne, we are still awaiting the results of our accreditation application I'm afraid. I will let you know as soon as I hear anything.
is there any further update?
Hi Jeff, I understand that we are in the final stages of accreditation and I would hope to have news of the release in the coming days. Many thanks for your patience with this, nearly there!
Hi Shane, is there an update when this software update will be released yet? Thanks.
This Service Pack update is now undergoing testing internally by our QA team. Should no issues arise then this will be signed-off for release by management.
Hi Ross,
The current status is that the Service Pack for this has been internally signed-off for release, and we are awaiting accreditation at this point.
I have been informed that this is likely to be completed next week, so the final release date is likely to be in two weeks time. As I know this is of high importance to you and to other users I will make sure to post any developments in this regard, as soon as any information is made available.
Shane,
Has the updated software been released now that the live release date has passed?
Many thanks,
Ross
As mentioned previously, the development time required by software providers has been taken into account in the SBEM5.2g switch-over date. The Scottish Building Standards Division have confirmed that this date will be 13/03/2016. Please see below:
************************************************
Having received feedback on development timetables from providers and agreed register enabling work, the following test schedule and go live date are confirmed:
Description Key Dates
UAT Testing Dates 05/02/16 – 18/02/16
OTE Testing Dates 21/02/16 – 04/03/16
LIVE Release Date 13/03/16
More detailed information and advice on testing arrangements will be forthcoming from EST early in the new year.
Until that date SBEM4.1e in Hevacomp v25 can be used. Any developments on this situation will be posted.
Hello,
Our programmers obtained the final SBEM 5.2g engine from BRE upon its release and they are currently incorporating the necessary changes into the software. More information will be posted shortly.
The new iSBEM version 5.2g was added to the list of accredited software on the 7th of December. Can you advise when Hevacomp will be updated to accommodate the new calculation engine?
The SBEM5.2.g engine has been made available in draft form so we are currently adapting Hevacomp accordingly.
BRE have informed us that 20th November 2015 is their provisional release date for the final version of this SBEM release, so the switchover to the new calculation method will begin from that date. Until then please continue to use the version SBEM 4.1e for Scottish EPC's.
