Does anyone know how your supposed to add an LTHW radiant heating system into SBEM? They allow for direct fired gas but not wet.
We have noted that SBEM doesn't carry all the installation methods that are available, so the approach you are taking is perfectly correct. It may be prudent to include a note in your finished project describing the BRE statement - along with an explanation of the approach you have taken - for Building Control's reference.

It may also behoove contacting BRE to see about the inclusion of this system in future releases, as this would likely help yourself - and a number of other users - if it was included.

RE: SBEM HVAC System type

Hi Duncan,

Not quite. They are high level radiant panels (www.zehnder.co.uk/.../zehnder-carboline,565.html). SBEM allows for gas fired radiant but not LTHW. Reading the BRE statement on unavailable systems I would be best using the gas fired radiant and tweaking the efficiency to suit. I was just after some assistance off anyone who's come across this before. LTHW radiant panels are widespread in hospitals and schools etc and it seems odd they are not accounted for.

RE: SBEM HVAC System type

Andrew - I'm not exactly sure what you mean by an LTHW Radiant heating system. That would suggest to me a central boiler with radiators which is certainly selectable?
