I am relatively new to HEVACOMP having used CYMAP for a while and I am obviously missing something here. When you go into 'CAD Input' and trace the building lines, change surfaces and input room data etc etc, I was expecting to find an option to assign specific wall surface data. In other select a wall type in the 'Fabric Data' section so that the heat gain and loss calculations can be completed with accuracy. All the help file appears to say is that it selects the wall for you dependent on what it is adjacent to the room.
Can any one tell me how I assign one of the specific 'Fabric Data' options to a wall in the 'CAD Input' Section please?
Regards
Chris
Hi Chris,
In Hevacomp the Fabric data menu is only used to create fabric types, not to apply them to the model. There are two ways of applying a fabric type to a surface of a CAD model - by using the Default settings, or by using Global Change.
In general I would suggest specifying the required fabric types in the Default menu (CAD Input > Defaults > Default data) at the beginning of each project, and then tracing your rooms. However, as it sounds like you have already traced your rooms you may find the Global Change function useful in this instance.
Further details of the above methods can be found here. If you need any clarifications please let me know.
