Hi,
Please would someone be able to help me. I have been trying to complete an SBEM for a client and this one part of the BRUKL document won't show up when I run the compliance section of the Part L in Hevacomp.
On the roof of the building in question there is 1 solar thermal panel. When myself and my colleagues tried to input the data for this in the Part L of Hevacomp and then run the compliance to get the BRUKL document, nothing shows up under the 'Energy Production by Technology [kWh/m3]' table. The solar thermal system is just not showing up with anything, yet it is picking up our solar PV. What myself and 2 of my colleagues don't understand is why this is not showing up on the document. We have been fiddling around with all the settings and data in the Part L of Hevacomp and I have followed this how to page from Bently: http://communities.bentley.com/products/building/performance/w/building_performance__wiki/24566.solar-collectors but it's still not showing up on the document and it's infuriating.
Please can someone advise on how to do this please.
Thank you.
Good afternoon,
Could you please clarify if you are looking to model Solar Collectors or a Solar Thermal System for your HWS?

Hi Jasmine, thanks for clarifying. The article you referenced is in relation to Solar Collectors - these are completely different and separate to Solar Thermal Panels.
There are a few things to look out for in relation to Solar Panels, but the most common reason for what you describe is that the correct HWS has not been specified. In Part L > General > SES, the DHW System selected must match that specified under the Room Data > DHW system for room.
Another possible reason would be if the room types selected do not have any hot water usage, as specified by the National Calculation Methodology.
Should the above not help to resolve the matter then please let me know and I can take a look at the project.
Hi Jasmine, the DHW systems listed under the SES tab correspond to those that you have set up under General>HWS.
For example, if you set up a DHW as below (and then apply it to rooms) then the highlighted system should be selected within the SES tab.
Here is what my Part L looks like:
And this is my BRUKL document that isn't showing anything:
