I have 2 questions:
1. is it normal for the window blinds database to cause the program to crash when it is selected?
I get run time error 53.
2. my second question is about blinds and part L
I know there is already "Glazing Data" article, which gives some details
but how do I change the transmission factor for the different types of blinds?
thank you.
Hello there - I've just checked my installation and have no trouble accessing the Blinds program. Can I check what version of the software you are using, and also is the path to your project particularly long?
With regards Transmission Factors for Part L; Blinds are considers as part of the Glazing Construction as a whole, and not a separate item. Please see this article for details.

Hi there - that doesn't look like a full version number. Is there another part to that?
Also: Using My Computer/Windows explorer, go into the C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp (if you can't see your ProgramData folder then cut and paste this into the address bar in My Computer). Once in there;
1] How many files are in this folder?
2] Can you locate the BLINDLAY file?
Thanks.
There should be a lot more files than that in the folder. In the root of C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp there should be more than 360 files, and 32 sub folders. This suggests to me that you have an incomplete installation, and are likely missing the main data installer.
Consider the download and installation documents. You should not need to download or install all of the software again, but use these documents as guides to get the Hevacomp Content Install - Content Pack 2 (CP2) (English) 32-bit - 26.06.03.00 - 02/03/2016 - 216mb and install this.Once installed, check the C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp folder again and let me know what you see then.
It shouldn't matter where the DXF files are stored but I would suggest a more suitable place may be in your project folder or a specific repository on your project drive.
