Temperature rise in technical rooms

Does HEVACOMP have the facility to tell you the temperature rise in a technical room such as a switch gear or instrument room once all HVAC fails?

Additionally the time taken to reach this state of thermal equilibrium.

So if the HVAC system was keeping the room between 15oC -25oC, you could assume the temperature is 25oC (heat load from equipment, infiltration, fenestration etc) and all of the HVAC fails (including redundancy). The rise and rate or rise in temperature would depend on several factors (which walls are open to atmosphere, U values etc).

Can HEVACOMP calculate this?

Good morning. The CIBSE Gain calculation should provide you with the results needed for this - it will display a breakdown of the solar, fabric, convective, latent and casual loads throughout the day, along with the time of the peak load. You would just need to specify 'no additional fresh air' and 'no fixed temperature air' in the CIBSE Gain>Design Data tab to take into account that no HVAC is being used.

I may have initially misunderstood your question - while CIBSE Gain will give you the breakdown of the gains it will not provide you with the temperature of the room. The Summer calculation would be able to provide you with this. However there would be no way of specifying the time that the HVAC fails as the Summer calc works over a 24 hour period only.
