I have created a new glazing type for use in the CIBSE Gain tool.
Now I want to create a second glazing type which includes a blind.
I have used the calculations in the CIBSE solar gain factor guide and modified all of the solar gain factors accordingly.
However, do I also need to change the following factors:
U Value
Light transmission
Shading co-efficient
SHGC

Hi Michael,
It is my understanding that the Uvalue and light Transmittance figures will not be affected by the blind, while the Shading Coefficient and SHGC would definitely be impacted. However the glazing manufacturer will need to confirm this for you - they should be able to provide this data for both with and without blinds.
