I'm trying to delete the roof of my model and recreate/retrace it. I deleted all the roof sections including the vertical sections, and to make sure I've deleted all the sections, I ran a heat loss calculation. However, the results showed I

RE: Deleting Roof

Should any other users require further guidance on roof design then please see this article.

RE: Deleting Roof

Hi Shane

Thank you for your reply. It gave me an idea to try something different. Instead of tracing a new roof straight away, I removed all the roof sections and use 'Roof/Floors > Set Up Roof' (yes, set up a roof without a roof). This seemed to clear away all the old roofs previously defined and when I ran my heat loss, roof was no longer in the report. Then, I retraced the new roof.

(A little bit background of the project, after creating a one-storey building with a roof in Hevacomp, I found out that I had to add another storey on top of the first storey. So, I removed the original roof, created another storey on the building and put a new roof on this new storey , then I ran a heat loss calc. The report showed heat losses through the roofs for both storeys (though theoretically the roof for 1st storey should have been removed)! Hence, the question in this forum.)

Thank you again for your help. Thought to share the above if other users find it useful.

Regards

After tracing your new roof, once you use the 'Roof/Floors > Set Up Roof' command the new roof surfaces will be updated, and should then be present in the rooms below.
