Ah ok, how does sit with the wiring regulations as the equipment at the end of the cable could be changed or added to as the protection device is rated as 32A but the cable is only rated at 23A? Or the motor could be replaced with a non-motor load or a high rated motor?

Hi Matt - As the cable only has to withstand the start current for a very short period, then the cable is sized on the circuit current. For more information please see this document.
