I'm trying to input a student accommodation building into Part L - each apartment has a bedroom and ensuite with the overall apartment having a dedicated HRU, the results on the BRUKL document criterion 2 show the ventilation system as being type A and type D when surely the results should be just a type D. I've tried to find an answer but seem to be drawing a blank. Any ideas ?
Hi Graham - Sorry about that - I meant can you provide a screen capture of typical room data? Thanks.

We seem to be crossing in the post! Can you also provide me with the HVAC tab, so I know how this is being set up? Thanks!

Thanks for that. I just wanted to ensure that I was running the same systems. While the results may appear misleading, the data does actually match both conditions and appears to be working as intended. For example, if you switch off heat recovery you will see A and B selected, as again both conditions are met by the selected system.I've checked the data reflection report to ensure we are passing the correct data into the SBEM calculation, and that's all fine.Regards
Thanks for that Duncan, the only thing I don't understand is that the HRU we are using is supposed to be better than Part L requirements but the results in the BRUKL shows it failing on the type A. It just seems to me that the ability to input a local HRU to an apartment is limited, therefore I was wondering if I was inputting it incorrectly or is it just a function of the SBEM program.
Cheers
Graham
There's certainly some interesting things going on there. I note that the wording for the system types is slightly different - Type A being local supply OR extract ventilation. Type D being local supply AND extract ventilation. It also seems that the Supply SFP is deciding whether Type D is selected, and the Extract SFP is deciding whether Type A is selected.Your data is fine - you can use the data reflection report to check it - its definitely a vagary of the SBEM calculation engine.Regards,
