Hi,

It isn't in a virtual drive, its a physical drive on my c: which just happens to be called Google drive and gets backed up to the cloud.

As i said for now i'll keep it on my desktop.

We really don't recommend saving things to virtual drive spaces. There can be issues with synchronising, and that could treat your project as being read only. If you intend to generate projects on your own hard drive I would recommend creating a Projects folder in the root of your C or D drive, and using that.

Where did you create the original project? What was the path?

Hi Duncan,

I've set up the project as a new one and deleted the original project data, I've located the new project on the desktop, which isn't ideal but gets me moving on my project.

Thank you for your help, I may return to this when i have more time, but for now have to get this project underway.

Please see my suggestion above. Try and create the new project in a different location. Don't re-use the existing project folder.

Note that you do not need to generate a service ticket AND a forum post. Both are monitored carefully.

Hi There,

I've relocated the project to the desktop and still the same issue, I create a new project in the same location and get the same issue can't open it. I create a new project on the desktop and can open the project? Any suggestions? I'm loathed to start a new project which is a 10 storey apartment block to find I cant open it to continue working on it.

Ah. I see you tried a new location.

Can you try the following?

Create a new project
Exit the software
Go back into the software and see if you can load the new project
Exit the software
If you are able to load the new project then copy the files from the original project into the new project, overwriting where asked
See if you can now open the new project

Can you try moving the project to another location?

There is no way of opening projects without going through the menu.

Hi There,

I've copied the project to the desktop and still get the same issue. This is the first project I've set up, however I can open the project which I set up on the design database while going through the training pdf.

I've checked and the folder isn't set to read only, I've set it to read only and un set it to try and i still get the same error message

Hi Wayne - I've checked the code and its a fairly simple attribute check. Can you check the project folder itself to see if it is set to read only?
