No, still crashes.

I've also spoken to our IT people and they have pulled this error event off:

It may be struggling to overwrite the existing files in the project folder perhaps - could you please test by running the software as administrator (i.e. right-click on the shortcut and select Run As Admin). Please also disable User account control.

Hi Shane

It’s all projects – On initially running reports for a project (either for the first time ever or running for the first time at a later date) it will produce the reports OK. Any subsequent report running will cause the prog to crash.

6.1 was an interim version, and we should update to ensure that isn't causing the issue.

Follow the directions here to update to the latest version, then try running a couple of test runs.

Also note that project navigation for the Windows Path/File method has changed. This document explains the changes.

The problem occurs with all my projects, no matter how few or how many rooms I have, certainly nowhere near 250. When opening a project and running the reports, it will create the first BRUKL report OK first time, but any subsequent ones will cause a crash.

Hi Steve - No - PartL doesn't use Crystal Reports. The cause of most issues with the SBEM calculation engine are usually down to a large number of surfaces in a project. While Design Database allows up to 32,000 rooms, the SBEM calculation engine has trouble if there are a lot of surfaces. We have seen issues with that from about 250+ rooms.

If you are seeing this problem, this document offers measures to reduce the number of rooms, and hence the number of surfaces.

Hi Jose - this is invariably caused by a bad installation of Crystal Reports - usually due to a lack of permissions at install time.

To remedy this, please work through this document. You should ensure you are logged onto your computer with administrator permissions, and with UAC turned off with the in-install/re-install process, otherwise this may not work correctly.
