Hi all, i want to do LTHW pipe sizing & pressure drop calculations on Hevacomp based on following conditions :
Please note the flow and return temps are 80 – 60 degree C
Eythyle-Glycol and 60% being used.Is there any way I can input Ethylene Glycol 60 % into the software input ?Please respond ASAP. I am struggling to complete a model ASAP.
Hi Puneet - The HWS program will only consider water. It should be possible to use the Chilled Water program. This will allow you to set flow and return temperatures, and also to select Ethylene Glycol.Regards,
Thanks for reply I did the same but as soon as I am using the CHW program and adding values in chilled water system data it is showing unacceptable value entered permitted range is 0 to 40 please see screenshot below :
Is there any other way how to use Hevacomp to calculate the pressure drop & Sizing of LTHW pipe.I am thinking one way that in which can we do Pipe Size manually from the CIBSE Pipe sizing excel spread sheet V2.1 then we draw pipe circuit in the LTHW system of Hevacomp. then fix the pipe size manually as per CIBSE Pipe sizing excel spread sheet V2.1. but my problem is how to take care of friction due to increased viscosity of Glycol ?
can you suggest some percentage margin on overall pressure drop value from your past experience?
I was wondering if setting an equivalent delta-t and adjusting the emitter outputs accordingly might give 'ball park' figures, but I don't think that's a workable solution. What you have suggested sounds like it would give reasonable results, though you may wish to consider adding an addition friction loss to pipe sections (through the Fix Pipe option) to emulate the viscosity. I do not know what figure to use for that, however.I shall raise a request with our development team to consider adding in alternative liquids to the LTHW calculation, but unfortunately, I cannot give a time scale on when that would be achieved.Regards,
