Why does the pressure drop (n/m2) in pipe sizing appear excessive but velocities are acceptable?
Hi George - Are you considering all of the sections, or is it just the sections connected to an outlet?Regards,
For example when we calculate the results in each section we will have acceptable values for the pipe diameter and velocity but the pressure drop may be up at around 45736 n/m2 for a 5m pipe length
Is the 5m pipe connected to an outlet?
And can I check what program you are running? Is it heating/cooling or CWS/HWS?Thanks,
yes connected to a wc in this instance and CWS/HWS
The pressure drop at the outlet is included in the pressure drop for the connecting pipe. For example:5m pipe length, with 200n/m2 total pressure dropWC outlet with 1000n/m2 total pressure dropTotal pipe pressure drop = 1200n/m2Pressure drop pet meter = 240 n/m2
