Strike risk assessments shows installing LPS to have little effect on risk and a very heavy weighting on soil resistivity values.

Hi there,

Myself and some more senior engineers are failing to understand the output of the risk assessments we're doing using the Strike software.

There seems to be very little weighting on attempts to reduce risk by using wiring precautions and protection measures and changing the resistivity of the soil has a large influence on whether there is a tolerable risk R1-R3.

Having had a look at the effect of changing parameters throughout the risk assessment process it is difficult to put any trust in the outputs.

Is there any explanation available as to why this would be the case?

Thanks a lot.

Mark.
