When pipe sizing using NetsSYS I have created a project and I am interested in the differences in flow rates, pipe sizes etc between BS 6700 & BS EN 806... If i change the sizing method on defaults, it does not automatically change the loading units to all outlets, which can be viewed by selecting 'change outlets'. Is there any way to force the software to update the loading units at all outlets?
Thanks
Kyle
Hi Kyle, please find a detailed explanation of the differences in this article.

Shane,
Thanks for this, but I know the differences from a technical perspective. I would like to know how to make the software update the values automatically, when switching between the two methods on defaults.
I have figured out if i add a outlet on the floor and delete it, all of the loading units on that floor update, but surely I don't have to do this on every floor for all of the figures to update automatically?
I want to see the changes to the system pipe sizes pressures etc.
Hi Kyle,
The previous link should explain how to do so, ie:
Existing projects from previous versions of Hevacomp will remain set to BS 6700. All new projects created in Hevacomp v26 will default to BS EN 806-3 automatically.
If changing the standards on your project, ensure you recalculate your system.
Is recalculating your system not updating to the alternate standard?
When I recalculate, the loading units do not change at the outlets. I get a different flow rate, but this will be due to the total loading units having different flow rates when comparing BS 6700 & BS EN 806 final flow charts.
I have done a manual check against both and the figures do not tally up.
Regards,
This is very unusual - eg please see simple system below when in 6700:
When I go to Pipes > Defaults, change to 806, then recalc, this changes automatically:
Could you please send me the project you are working on? Please upload to:
