Extending external walls and partitions to the underside of Roofs and false ceilings in HevaComp's design database.

How do you extend the external walls of a building to the underside of a roof that you have created but at the same time keep the internal partitions of the respective rooms so that they only extend to the underside of the false ceiling when using the design database tools in HevaComp?

  • Do I have to select both of the tick box options ie. Flat ceiling under this roof  (ie flat false ceiling on room side and a roof cavity) and also the extend walls to underside of roof and correct roof volumes?

Which combination of the tick boxes do I use?
    1. Flat ceiling under this roof  (ie flat false ceiling on room side and a roof cavity) and also the extend walls to underside of roof and correct roof volumes both selected?
    2. Flat ceiling under this roof  (ie flat false ceiling on room side and a roof cavity) only?
    3. extend walls to underside of roof and correct roof volumes only?
    4. Neither the Flat ceiling under this roof  (ie flat false ceiling on room side and a roof cavity) and also the extend walls to underside of roof and correct roof volumes selected?

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

Further to this please could you clarify how I similarly extend the External walls on the rest of each of the floors where the is no roof as there is a floor above them. Again I require the internal partitions to remain only extended to the under side of the false ceiling so that there is a ceiling void to each room.

Many thanks in advance for your assistance.

    Kind Regards

  • Hi Rachel, yes in this case I would usually suggest ticking both options prior to setting up the roof.

Detailed guidance on setting up your roof can be found in the manuals as below. (This can be accessed as detailed here).

For the floors below, please use the Set Up Intermediate floors/ceilings option, (which also has a similar false ceiling option) - further guidance can be found below:
