HiI'm running a natural gas pipe sizing calculation. The pressure drop cannot exceed 1mbar. I have generated the results.
From the first sheet, in the Pressure drop columns, there a multiple pressure drops.
To check if the drop is within 1mbar, should i only consider the drops along the longest run?
I need some guidance on how to check if system pressure drop is within 1mbar from the available list of drops (section-wise).
I will be grateful for an early reply.
Thank you.
Hi, yes that is correct - the results give a pressure drop for each section of your system. Summing those along the critical path will provide what you need.

Hi thanks for the reply.
Also another query.
How are the sections taken? for eg : i have a source connected to header from which there are 8 branches (for each outlet) and the header ends with the last outlet (9th) . So the longest run ends at the 9th outlet. The first section is from the source upto the start of the 1st branch and second section is from the branch connecting to the outlet. The third section will be the pipe connection between the first and second branch and so on. Is this right?
Section numbers can be displayed by enabling the following option in the Pipes>Defaults menu:
Great. Thank you so much.
No problem at all.
