what are the benefits of Hevacomp when compared to AECOsim?
Hi Amudhini,
Simply put, Hevacomp is software specifically for Mechanical and Electrical design engineers (info here), while AECOsim (now named OpenBuildings) is multidisciplinary BIM software.
However, Hevacomp's capabilities are being transitioned over to OpenBuildings currently, and the Energy Simulator module within OpenBuildings contains many of Hevacomp's mechanical design calculation and dynamic simulation capabilities.
For the meantime however, for any electrical calculations or pipe\duct sizing calculations Hevacomp should be used.

Thanks Shane!
Is there a way to get hold of a trial version for a small presentation (educational purposes)
I will request that our application sales engineer gets in touch to discuss this with you.
