As i understand. Bentley Hevacomp is being retired and replaced with openbuilding designer.
I cannot find any training for openbuilding designer to do with plumbing systems. Only ductwork ventilation systems.
I would like to know how to design a heating pipework system, Hot and cold water system, natural gas pipework system in OBD.
Pipe sizing the systems just like you would in Hevacomp to UK standards. Using loading units for hot and cold water systems. Watts for heating system.
Hi Paul,
Yes, that is correct.
However at this stage this is relevant to Design Database only - the capabilities of which are now within OpenBuildings Energy Simulator.
Hevacomp Netsys should continue to be used for duct and pipe sizing for the time being. These aspects are planned for development in OpenBuildings in the next stages of the transition.
The FAQ document here should assist with the transition and the resources available to you. Should you need assistance with getting started with OpenBuildings Energy Simulator please let us know - the Wiki page here should also be of assistance with this.

Thank you for your answer Shane.
When could we see then next stage of transition to OBD. Hevacomp support end January next year doesn't it?
Without the hevacomp netsys capabilities in OBD for pipe sizing, OBD is only really useful to us for energy simulator for heatloss calculations.
