Hello,
I've completed some Netsys cold water pipesizing and issued the results to some Consultants. We've received a comment back that they are happy with the pipe sizing but the pressure drops look excessive. I've always carried out the pipe sizing in the same way during the 15 odd years I've been using Hevacomp, but never been questioned about the pressure drops.
I've set the source pressure to 300 (3 bar) and minimum pressure at outlets to 50 (0.5 bar).
On the below results is it saying that for section 1, there is a 2.433 kPa pressure drop across the 2.4m length of pipe?
Do the pressure drops seem correct or am I doing something wrong? I just want to be able to answer the consultants query correctly :-)
Regards
Pete
Hi Pete,
Good afternoon. They should bear in mind that the pressure drops for each section also include that for the fittings attached to that section - ie the pressure drops shown are not just for the length of pipe but for the length of pipe plus the adjoining bend/tee/outlet.
You can find the fittings for each section in one of the other reports, which should help you if you need to narrow this down further - just enable all reports as below:
