I am currently using Bentley Hevacomp v8i, version 25.06.9. I have a building model that i need to update. Therefore i have copied the whole original file, with the aim of overriding the dxf with an updated one. I have tried saving over the previous dxf file with the new one, keeping the name the same etc but still no luck. Any ideas on how to achieve this? Thank you.
Tom - When a DXF file is imported into Design Database, while we keep a link to the original location, we create a DXF cache file inside the project folder, and the software reads this instead of the original.
To update the DXF you need to load the correct floor in CAD Input, and then from the Defaults menu select the Default data option. The following dialog will appear:
Select the highlighted button and choose your new DXF file. Ensure that the new DXF file uses the same coordinates and origin as the original DXF otherwise it may not line up correctly
