i Shane and Duncan, I have this error when I deleted a room in the program, it continued with this message tried all I can to try and fix but could someone lend a hand on this one? at my company we Use Bentley frequently for quick calculations,…
  • Could not open the default project. Need some help, please.

Hi there, I was making a building through Design Database, and I was trying to modify the name of a room. Something happened, I suspect that the file got corrupted. I can not open it anymore. Can I get some assistance on this, please?
  • Is the anyway to check that a "Flat ceilling under this roof" is applied to a specific room?

Running Hevacomp, Design Database for Heat losses. (V8 SS1 SPB (V*i SS1 CP3 (06/16)) I want to apply a flat ceilling to some rooms since they are 3.6m high but have a ceilling at 2.7m. The problem is when I click the "Flat ceilling under this…

Hi, How would i be able to add 'Engineer' and 'Checked by' details on the TM52 reports under print. I have already fill the details below but don't seem to show up on the report: Many Thanks
  • Weather data: run-time error 62 input past end of file

Hi, I keep having this issue with one of my models. It is not letting me go into weather data to input my weather files correctly. My global changes and fabric data work fine, it just seems to be the weather data that gives the error message as shown…
  • First floor ceiling and roof

My model consists of two floors, 2.7m high for first floor and 2.7m for second floor. I added a pitch roof which messed the whole model up, so i deleted the roof data from the DDBROOF.NDX folder along with the ROOFPOLY.* and RLIGHTPOLY.* files. The model…
  • Calculations - Occupancy and heat gains

What takes precedence for people gains - is it the Standard room input data, or the definition of activity types? VS. The activity types are referenced below are from this thread: https://communities.bentley.com/products/building/performance/w/building_performance__wiki…
  • Error 380: Invalid Property Value when clicking on Profiles in Design Database.

Tried the other fix in this forum downloading the MatIndex.zip file and extracting in to the C drive and still have the issue. Fabric details are appearing OK also.
  • Does anyone have experience of modelling an air supported structure to ascertain the heat loss.

We have a project where our client is looking to provide a new air supported structure/ dome over an existing training pitch, the structure is to be heated and cooled as required. Can this be modelled using Hevacomp.
  • HEVACOMP Heat Loss Result

Hi Good morning, For the HEVACOMP Heat Loss Calculation, is there a way to know the required supply air flow based on the calculated total heat loss from the result? I'm looking at something similar with the CIBSE gain calculation where the result…
  • CIBSE Gain Queries

I have turned off infiltration, ventilation, occupants and casual gains from my model to test the solar load portion only. However I still see loads attributed with "Convective" and "Latent" (albeit small). Should these loads exist in my calculation…
  • Hevacomp V8i

  • HELP WITH LOAD CALCULATIONS DATA AND TRANSFERRING IT INTO TOTAL BUILDING DESIGN

I have constructed my hevacomp model in the design database using the load calculation tab along with sizing all my mechanical pipe and duct systems using the pipe and duct sizer netsys tab. I am wondering if it is possible to transfer all this data…
  • How do i get my outline to align with the building I've modelled?

I received a new building outline for a building I've already modelled. I replaced the outline on a constant known point so i could make changes, saved and opened the model in hevacomp. The outline is no longer inline with model for some unknown reason…

  • Adding NCM Construction Databases (standard library / inference) to Hevacomp Materials & Glazing Database

I have been using other building modelling software that make use of the standard NCM Construction Databases for library / inference. Are there any plans for the NCM Construction Databases to be added to the Hevacomp Materials & Glazing Database?

  • RE: Rooflights - Design Simulation

Hi Andrew, Rooflight openings are assumed to be a flat opening based on a specific percentage of the rooflight area. For pivoting rooflight openings the Opening Factor should be determined from the window/rooflight opening angle, where the minimum opening…

  • Very high CIBSE Solar Gains

I modelled a simple 5mx5m glass box with no heat transfer across the floor or ceiling and I created a custom glass to replicate a Pilkington glass (U-Value of 0.6 and g-factor of 0.55). When I checked the solar gains using CIBSE Gains they were 10.8kW…
  • RE: CIBSE Gain - Results Breakdown

Matthew, you have probably turned on Temperature Rise in the Design Data tab. When you use Temperature Rise the individual loads are combined in the underlying equations and cannot be accurately split out afterwards.
