This document provides guidance on how to change Floor heights in Design Database.
It is sometimes necessary to alter floor heights after a CAD model has been drawn – for example if the original floor height is found to be incorrect, or if design revisions are made.
While this function is not directly available in Hevacomp, a simple workaround using the Copy Floor function can be used to achieve the same result.
For example, if a floor has been traced at a floor height of 5m but subsequently needs to be changed to a floor height of 6m:
Step 1: Using the Floors>Copy floor command, copy the floor in question to an arbitrary height – making sure that the new floor does not overlap any of the existing model. Note that this will be a temporary floor. Using 20m in this instance:
It is advisable to inspect the 3D view at this stage; it should look something like the following:
Step 2: Using the Floors>Delete Floor function, delete the original floor (i.e. the floor with incorrect floor height of 5m in this case).
Step 3: Using the Floors>Copy floor command, copy the temporary floor created previously to the correct floor height of 6m:
Step 4: Finally, Delete the temporary floor. The remaining floor should then have the correct floor height of 6m.
