Overview

Windows settings for numeric symbols can cause issues when running Hevacomp. These symbols are used as numerical operators by the software, so they must be defined as described below.

Method

The numerical format is defined in the Regional and Language options in your Windows settings. Please note that this document deals with Windows 7 but similar methods are available in Windows 8, Vista and XP.

1. Click on your Start Menu and go to Control Panel.
   
   
2. Select Region and Language.
   
   
3. On the Region and Language menu (as below), click on the Additional Settings button.
   
   

    

4. This will bring up the following menu:
   
   

  
Please ensure that these settings are exactly as in the above image, particularly:

Decimal symbol changed to: .

Digit grouping symbol changed to: ,

List separator changed to: ,
