Version 26 - How do I install Bentley Hevacomp V8i?

Introduction

A new version of Bentley Hevacomp V8i (v26.06) is now available for download from the Bentley Website.

Before Installing please take careful note of the following:

Bentley Hevacomp Version 26.06 is not an update to previous Version 26 installations, but is a complete new installation of the software. Any existing prior versions of Version 26 must be uninstalled before installing Version 26.06.
Bentley Hevacomp Version 26.06 is only available as a CLIENT installation. As always, project files can be stored anywhere, but the software can only be installed directly onto client computers. There is no facility for a Server/Client installation.
Bentley Hevacomp Version 26.06 installer is now in three parts - a program installer, an updater, and a content installer. For new installations you will need all 3 items. For updating Version 26.06 with update 2, you will only need the updater.
Any further service packs that may be released will only be applicable to Version 26.06. You will not be able to apply service packs to prior versions of Version 26.

The v26 installation consists of three parts - Program installer, updater and Content installer. The content installer contains data used by Hevacomp calculations (e.g. room types, pipe properties, emitter types, electrical devices) - by keeping this in a separate installation file our content department will be better able to respond to requests to include or update manufacturers data within Hevacomp. We advise logging on as full administrator and turning down User Account Control (Windows 7, 8 or VISTA) for the whole installation process.

Method

Step 1

Run (right-clicking and selecting Run As Administrator is advised) the Hevacomp V8i v26 installation setup file:

After the initial stages of the installation are complete the following dialog will appear:

Wherever the software or data files are installed to, full read,
write and modify permissions are required at both locations

From this dialog, set the location for the software and data files to be installed to. It is advised to leave the paths as default. Click on Next to complete the installation. At this stage you will need to activate the software. If v25 is already installed then the activation key will be extant. Step 2

Now you will need to apply update 3 to the installation:

Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

Step 3

Finally, the Content should be installed by running the content installer:

Follow the prompts to complete the installation.

If you followed these directions carefully you should now have successfully completed your new software installation.
