Using old configuration options

Overview

As part of the installation of Bentley Hevacomp V8i (v26) you will be given a number of configuration options. These can either be set manually - or if preferable - the options from v25 can be copied over into your new software.

Method

First of all, locate the configuration file from your v25 installation. This will be in the base installation folder - Heva25.

For 32bit Windows, the client only installation is placed in C:\Program Files\Heva25\
For 64bit Windows, the client only installation is placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Heva25\
For Server/Client installations, examine the shortcut, removing the Programs part of the path

If you examine this folder you should see something like the following:

Copy the Custom.Def file.

Now locate the Hevacomp Data folder for your new Bentley Hevacomp V8i (v26) software.

For Windows XP this should be:
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp
For Windows Vista, 7,8 and 10 this should be:
C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp\

Copy the Custom.Def file from above into this folder. If asked to overwrite the existing file, select yes. Next time you start your software the Standards and Location configuration will match your v25 installation.
