As part of the installation of Bentley Hevacomp V8i (v26) you will be asked to provide an activation code for the new installation. In most cases this will be for a Hosted license, and this document will help locate your license. If you have a deployed (or similar) license, then other information will have previously been dispatched to you.
To access your Hosted activation code you will first of all need to log onto the Bentley web site: www.bentley.com
First of all, locate the configuration file from your v25 installation. This will be in the base installation folder, Heva25.
For 32bit Windows, the client only installation is placed in C:\Program Files\Heva25\
For 64bit Windows, the client only installation is placed in C:\Program Files (x86)\Heva25\
For Server/Client installations, examine the shortcut, removing the Programs part of the path.
If you examine this folder you should see something like the following:
Copy the Custom.Def file. Now locate the Hevacomp Data folder for your new Bentley Hevacomp V8i (v26) software
For Windows XP this should be: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp\
For Windows Vista, 7 and 8 this should be:C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp\
(This list will be update with Client/Server locations as applicable)
Copy the Custom.Def file from above into this folder. If asked to overwrite the existing file, select yes.
Next time you start your software the Standards and Location configuration will match your v25 installation.
