The Nimbus database contains a large number of manufacturers luminaires. Some of these luminaires are designed to be wall mounted, or can be both ceiling and wall mounted.
A number of the available luminaires can only be wall mount. The polar curve data reflects this.
The polar curve for a wall mounted luminaire is already aimed. These luminaires should be positioned in a room, near a wall, and then rotated to the correct orientation. This can be done from the Luminaire/change menu.
The polar curve for ceiling mounted luminaires are downward facing and symmetrical. For ceiling mounting, the luminaire can be added as is, for wall mounting, it should be positioned accordingly and then aimed across the room.
Follows are 3 examples of ceiling luminaires mounted on walls, and sample values to aim the luminaires accordingly. When wall mounting luminaires, care should be taken to position them just inside the room, rather than directly onto a wall.
