Overview

You may wish to fix the size of a riser pipe or duct section.

Method

Consider this simple CWS project with a riser between floors:

In this example, the riser has sized to 22m, but we wish to fix it at 15mm. To enable us to select the riser correctly, we need to set the pipe height to the mid point between the start and end of the pipe. The lowest point is .45m, and the highest 3, the midpoint is 1.7m.

From the Pipes menu, select the Defaults option. Now choose the "Special Height" from the dialog and set it to our mid point height (1.7m). Close the dialog and select the Fix/unfix pipes option from the Pipes menu.

While in Fix/unfix mode, RIGHT click as near to the center of the riser section as possible. It will help if you zoom into this area before trying to select the riser point.

If you select the area correctly, you will see a coloured dot highlighted in the center of the riser/floor change connector marker as in the zoomed image below. Once the section is correctly selected you can set the parameters of the section, as required.

Overview

It may sometimes be necessary to fix the size of a rising pipe or duct section in the Netsys program.

Method

On the face of it, it may appear difficult to fix the size of riser pipe (or duct) in the Netsys program, however following these guidelines should help.

Consider the example below. Here we have a simple CWS project with a riser to floor change connector:

In this example, the riser has sized to 22m, but we wish to fix it at 15mm. To enable us to select the riser correctly, we need to set the pipe height to somewhere between the lower and upper position of the pipe. In this instance the lowest point of the pipe is .45m and the highest point is 3m. Our mid point is 1.7m.

Overview

If a floor change connector, or a pipe/duct height chance is specified in a project, you may wish to fix the size of the ‘riser' section.

Method

Consider the example image below. Here we have a very simple CWS project with a riser to floor change connector.

The riser has sized to 22mm but we wish to fix it to 15mm. We must set our pipe or duct height to somewhere in between these too values. Select ‘Special Height' from the Defaults dialog, and set the Pipe Height to a point in between the lowest and highest part of the section to fix. In this case the lowest point is .45m and the highest point is 3m. Set Pipe or Duct height to a mid point (1.7m) and return to the graphical input screen.

Select Fix/unfix Pipes from the menu. While in this mode, RIGHT CLICK as near to centre of the riser section as possible. It will help greatly if you zoom in before attempting to select the riser section.

If you select the correct area, you should see a coloured dot in the centre of the riser/floor change connector.

Once the section is selected, you can use the dialog to set parameters for the riser section.
