After Version 18, the file format for Hevacomp Connect projects was modified. Version 18 projects will need converting before they can be run in later versions of Connect.
Launch Connect 17th Edition for the Hevacomp Design Software main banner program. The project explorer will open.
In the Project Explorer, click the ‘Show old Connect Projects' tick box.
Navigate to where the project you want to convert is placed and highlight the ‘.cnp' file, in this example we have selected a project called ‘project1.cnp'.
Click ‘selected path ok'. Your project will now open in Connect 17th Edition. This example is called "Project1"
The next time you open your project this has ALREADY been converted so you do not need to convert the file again. The checkbox marked "Show Old Connect Projects" should NOT be ticked.
In the area where you converted your project there will be a folder named the same name as your original project name, again in this example the folder is called "Project1", when opening your project now you highlight the folder and click the button "Selected Path OK". Your Project should open then in Connect 17th Edition.
During the conversion process Hevacomp software copies and renames your project to ‘Connect.cnp' and places it in a folder called the original project name. The original project is renamed to ‘projectname.bak'. In this example "Project1.cnp" was copied and renamed to ‘Connect.cnp' and placed in a folder called ‘Project1' with the original being renamed to ‘Project1.bak'
