Overview

After a Windows 10 update, the software may generate Run Time Error 482 when attempting to access the printer or use printer derived functions such as scaling annotation.

Method

There is an issue that is blocking access to the printer or printer driver. Working through the following should resolve this issue.

• You may not have a printer installed as your previous driver set is not compatible with Windows 10

   Open the Control Panel, double-click the Printers icon and choose Add Printer to install a printer.

• Your printer is turned off or offline

   Turn the printer on, or physically switch it to online mode.

• Your printer is jammed or out of paper

   Physically correct the problem

• You tried to print a graphical image (such as a schematic) to a printer that is set up only to accept text

   Switch to an installed printer that can handle graphics
