With the amount of complicated programs that you find on today's computer systems, sometimes an update, or the installation of new software, can impact on how existing software functions. When this happens, it may be necessary to re-install an existing software item to overcome the problem. This document demonstrates the best practices for a clean installation of Bentley Hevacomp.
Before performing the methods described, ensure you are logged onto your computer through an administrator account and you have UAC turned off.
1] From the Control Panel, select Uninstall a program
2] From the list of available programs, uninstall all components that reference Bentley Hevacomp or Hevacomp. Note that you can leave Crystal Reports extant.
3] Now delete the installation folders. In most cases these will be located at:
For 64bit computers; C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i
For 32bit computers; C:\Program Files\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i
And on all computers; C:\ProgramData\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i
4] Reboot the computer.
5] Ensure you have all the latest components for the new installation. This guide shows you exactly which components you need. Ensure you do not mix and match components from different versions.
6] Install the software using the information provided by this document. Make sure that you follow the order shown in the document, taking care as some of the files have similar names.
7] Reboot the computer.
You should now have a clean installation of the latest version of Bentley Hevacomp software.
