    How to send your license logs

    Overview

    In some instances, to assist with a licensing query, you may be asked to submit your license log.

    Method

    Logs are generated via the License tool. To launch the tool follow these steps:

    1. Click on the Configuration Icon
    2. Select Licensing
    3. Select License tool

    Alternatively, If you cannot run the license tool from the software:

    1. Navigate into the installation folder - usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Bentley\Hevacomp V8i\Hevacomp
    2. Locate LicenseTool.Exe
    3. Right Click and select "Run as administrator"

    Once the license tool appears you should see a message box telling you that says "Settings are stored for this user only" or "...for all users". Click OK to cancel that message.

    From the Tools menu (1), select the Send Logs Now (2) option.

    There will be a short wait while you logs are being created and sent, during which you will see this:

     You should note there is no confirmation that your logs have been sent. You can now exit the License Tool.

    The program has sent logs to our central servers, but Technical Support staff do not have access to these. A copy of the logs will also have been generated on your local hard drive. The Technical Support operative will require this.  These can usually be found in:

    C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Bentley\Licensing

    Unless told otherwise, the file we will require is LICDEBUG.LOG.
